Welcome

Hi there. Thanks for stopping by. I love to read. You can probably guess by the name of this site that I like to read books from a wide range of topics, genres, and authors. I’m a curious person and have lots of different interests. What I read is a good reflection of that. Here’s a great quote that really resonates with me.

If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.

Haruki Murakami, in his book Norwegian Wood

I believe that reading is very important, not just for purely educational purposes, but also for relaxation, entertainment, and enlightenment. On this site, you’ll find book reviews, recommendations, lists, and tips for getting the most out of your reading. I will do my best to be as objective as possible, but you should know that books are a lot like music, food, and art in how everyone’s taste is different. Many different factors can play into why someone likes one book more than another – format, style, reading level, personal background… you get the idea. So keep that in mind when you read my reviews and recommendations.

When it comes to fiction (novels), I believe that stories are incredibly powerful. Humans are storytelling animals. We are constantly telling stories, especially to ourselves. These stories that we tell ourselves can be empowering, damaging, and everything in-between. The best novels explore the stories we tell ourselves and the impact that these stories have on us and those around us. They challenge us to look at the world in a new way. Fiction can allow us to talk or think about topics in a new way. Some novels are important, not because they are easy to read, but because they tell an important story. Keep that in mind as you browse this site.

Books are listed by categories and tags on the sidebar (if viewing on desktop/laptop) if you would like to find something in a specific genre or topic. Click on something that interests you and you’ll see which books have been reviewed under each genre/topic. You can also use the search option. Otherwise, you can go over to the blog roll and scroll through the books that have been reviewed (in chronological order of most to least recent).

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something that interests you or sparks your curiosity. Stay curious, friends. Embrace the eclectic!
